January 20th, 2008

Well, the day has finally come and I am offically a civilian again. On January 20th, 2008, I reported in for my last day of duty and wore my uniform for the last time as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. At first I was really excited about being discharged honorably, however, as the day wore on and it was coming to a close it started to don on me that this was the last day I would ever be a Marine, not a veteran. It was hard to realize that all the scarafices that I made for the last four years where over, no more leaving Kayla and Paul for weeks at a time, or missing the important family events, or milestones with Kayla. I could really plan my life without waiting to see what was going to happen. So, I have finally come to terms that I am now offically a veteran and I can move on with my life. Which is what Paul, Kayla, and I are going to do. We bought our first house in September and that is awesome, there always seems to be things that I want to do in the house that just take money, and I don't seem to have an unlimited supply of that, so it will just take time and that is okay with me. Paul and I where expecting baby bumber 2 which was really exiting, but I miscarried on January 5th, so we will try again sometime soon hopefully. The 2nd baby was unexpected, we weren't trying, but we wheren't doing anything to prevent it either. So maybe we will try again this summer, we will see. Becs, in July or August we are thinking about taking a family vacation to the beach, somewhere near you, so that we can take Kayla to the beach? Any recommendations? I would to see you and Karolyn too! Well, I suppose that is the latest update anyways. Happy late Birthday Becs, and congrads Crack!

Kayla's 2nd Birthday

Paul trying to teach Kayla how to blow a birthday streamer, that makes noises, she never did get it right, but she sure thought it was funny when we did it.

She just dove right on in, she loved the cupcakes. They where a huge hit for all of us.

Kayla and Daddy playing instead of eating dinner, but it was fun to watch them.

Kayla trying to shovel it in, she thought her Daddy was going to take it away from her, he was only trying to remove the Little Mermaid off the cupcake, she got really upset don't mess with her dessert, she gets mad, like most women....lol.

The Eads Family, since we don't get very many pictures of the three of us, I will take whatever I can get even though I hate the way I look in this picture.

Kayla's Disney Princesses Cake, it was actually 12 yellow cupcakes and 12 chocolate, but it was so good, the frosting was butter creme yummy.

Kayla's 2nd Christmas

Playing in the snow with Kayla, her first snow day, she wanted to eat it...lol.
Open the puzzles Daddy...hurry....she was really excited to get puzzles, now if I get her to give up her nuky...she still wants it when she is riding in the car and going to sleep, and of course when she is all nuggly in the mornings when she first wakes up. Maybe by her third birthday it will long gone.

Kayla reading her new books with Daddy, aren't they they cutest ever? She loves her Daddy! Poor Paul he has his hands full when she gets just a little older.

Kayla's loot from HoHoHO, she was really excited about her kitchen, she loves it almost as much as she does her BOOKS....the kid loves to be read to, which is never a bad thing.

Can we tell Mommy hasn't been awake very long and just started drinking coffee?

My beautiful baby on Christmas Eve, we read her The Night Before Christmas, left cookies (that Kayla helped decorate of course, and some reindeer food. She was so excited that HoHoHo was coming to see her(since she still can't say Santa very well)
This Christmas was by far the best I have ever had so far, with Paul and Kayla, she was such a treat to watch her tare open the presents for herself, as well as everyone else in the family. She was really funny she would gently take the bows off and keep them, her pretties as she called it, and then shred the paper. She would get so excited tearing into the presents, but once they where opened she could care less she wanted to move onto the next present. She really loved her kitchen and books of course, but we where thankful for everything that was given to her. She is still playing with everything and asking about HoHoHo. Next year will be even better I would say. We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year as well.
