Things seem to Happen in Threes

Sorry in advance for the general post but I needed to vent so here goes. Almost three weeks ago we where informed by our lovely Local Water Company, they shall remain nameless, that we had a water line leak going to our house, but since it was connected to our house we where responsible for getting it fixed. First of all they knew about it for almost two weeks before they notified us. They had came to recheck the leak, then they left a note on our front door, even though Paul was home. So of course we got that fixed, thankfully our home warranty that we purchase paid for the repair. So we turned in a copy of our receipt so that they could credit our bill or do a readjustment. Well we got our bill in the mail yesterday for almost $278.00 for a month of water service, so I called to inquire why we had to pay that much, I was told that they would recommend that we pay the bill, since it could take up to 60 days for them to review our information and do a readjustment, so that way we don't get disconnected. So we have lived in our house 9 weeks, yup that is right 9 weeks . So what else could go wrong right?

Well we also got a letter in the mail last Tuesday regarding the property taxes, apparently they didn't collect enough from the previos owner and the property taxes had increased, but we had four days to pay it, thats right just four days. But you know people have a lot of extra money around this time of year, with exactly three weeks from Christmas Day! So I called our realtors, they didn't know anything about it, I called the closing attorney and chewed him out and he acted like it was no big deal, and then he FINALLY told me after 45 minutes on the phone that it was in fact due by the 31st of December. So at least I didn't have to try to go and rob a bank or something to pay the increase in taxes.

Finally the third thing, our wonderful cell phone company We had cell phone service with the same company for almost 8 years, even though they have gotten bought out, changed names, and etc. So how we used all of our roll over minutes, that carry over from one month to another, plus an additional 822 minutes on top of our anytime minutes, which I find that hard to believe. I called the customer service line, and I would like to tell you I would LOVE to talk to someone that speaks English as their first langauge for a change. But I was told that even though the phone drops calls, tells me that the network connection fails, or doesn't seem to make the calls, and I am still getting charged for the non-placed calls, it is not their fault they are having problems in my coverage area for the last three months, but I still have to pay the bill that is almost $230.00 which is twice what we normally pay! So I took our actual phones in to have them looked at and again nothing wrong with the phones, slightly outdated, but I am not going to pay $400 for two new cell phones! So until we can trade them in which is next July we will be using outdated phones, who cares?!? So I again called customer service and told them I had my phones checked out and nothing is wrong with them, could they please attempt to credit my bill for all of the dropped or non-placed calls. I was told no, so I asked if I could just terminate my services, or course I can by the way but I would still be charged through November 2008 which is when my service contract is up. So it seems like it will never end and I won't win. So I filed a formal complaint , which that has done me a lot of good either. So I am really frustrated with the above events, Paul just told me to pay everything and if we end up with a credit then that is great, but if we don't that is okay too. It just seems like these types of things always happen in threes and this time of year. Oh well, I feel better for venting and this all two shall pass. At least we are done with Christmas shopping except for me and a few things for Kayla, so at least there is that, we also have a wonderful family and friends, and beautiful new house, so there is always something to be thankful for. Thank you for letting me vent and rant. I feel a thousand times better!

Our Front Door

Kayla was tired from helping Mommy and Daddy. She loves snuggle.

We don't have a fireplace so I got creative so we could hang our stockings, notice Paul has two stockings, then Kayla, myself, and the dogs just have one. LOL

Our First Christmas Tree at our new house. It was so much decorating it this year because Kayla wanted to help. We only broke 5 ornaments and they where glass, so it was our fault that we didn't just wait and put those on ourselves. Kayla wanted to help and she kept telling us mine Mommy and mine Daddy when she wanted to hang a certain ornament. I also baked homemade Chocolate Chip cookies that night so her and her Daddy shared those as well as few books and stories before bed time.

Thanksgiving

Kayla was upset because she wanted to help feed Daddy because she was done and wanted down please. It was really funny. The other two photos are of her eating and not liking deviled eggs. It was a lot of fun this year, we are really looking forward to Christmas and her birthday in Jan 2008. She is going to be so much fun!

Kayla enjoyed her second Thanksgiving for the most part. Paul had to work all day so she was really happy to see Daddy but was tired of waiting to eat so she didn't do as well as we had hoped through dinner. We have discovered that she doesn't really care for deviled eggs, it was quite funny to watch her take a bite and then try to spit out and then look at you and say yucky.

The end of the Trick or Treating and Tinker Bell was ready to go to bed she was tired of all the candy, at least for this year anyways! :-)


She looks more and more like her Mommy everyday. She is the love of my life, seriously the best thing that ever happened to us!

We know it has been forever since we have updated Kayla's blog, that is my fault, but it seems like the older she gets the busier we get. She is growing like a weed and was a blast this Halloween, she really didn't like her costume at first, but she went up to the first two houses with her Daddy and realized they gave her candy for looking so darn cute, that she didn't seem to mind all that much any more. I know she is just like her Mommy. She look more and more like me everyday. I loved her Tinker Bell Costume this year, she seemed to like the wings too! I will also update the blog with pictures of our first house, we love it and it is still work in progress, but it is perfect for us for now. More later we promise. Love you all!

Hello All, Kayla is offically One Year Old today. She had a fun filled and busy day. I took pictures throughout the day of her, she really had a blast with the birthday cake, she really liked the frosting. She played so hard she sacked out pretty quickly after a bath and play time.
